Comicdom Con Athens 2017 Workshop: Pop-Tales: From Fairytales To Comics

A magical world that seemed to remain forever dormant is revived in 21st Century pop stories. Are fairytale motifs transformed and modernized by comics, or do they just drag them back into the past? Are folk tradition and pop culture really that different from each other? How can a creator dive into both without getting drowned by either one?

In this workshop, participants will have a chance to see how tradition influences pop culture and how the latter can rejuvenate the former, through the eyes of an artist (Vincenzo Balzano) and a writer (K.I. Zachopoulos).
